Hardwood & engineered questions
Solid or engineered: which is better?
Both are real wood. Engineered handles humidity better and suits more spaces; solid can be refinished more times. We'll recommend one for your room.
How long before we can walk on it?
Usually right away with nail-down or floating floors. Glue-down needs about 24 hours.
Why does hardwood need to acclimate?
Wood expands and shrinks with humidity. Letting it sit in your home for a few days before install helps it adjust to your home's conditions, so it's less likely to gap or buckle later.
